Mail SettingsPlease note: Replace all occurances of "mydomain.com" with your actual domain name, and "myemail@mydomain.com" with your actual e-mail address.
Incoming mail server: mail.mydomain.com The text you see in your mail client may very slightly from the text here, but it should be very similar. You may look below for screen shots on setting up outgoing authentication for Outlook Express and Outlook. There are two key things during your e-mail setup which you need to be sure to do that won't be setup properly if you just go through the standard steps when setting up your e-mail account in your e-mail client. You need to be sure your "Account" is your full e-mail address and not just the name part (which is what some mail clients use by default). So if the e-mail address you are using is myname@mydomain.com, then you need to enter the full address myname@mydomain.com when asked for the account to use. The second thing that will need to be different from a standard setup is you need to check a box that indicates the outbound mail server requires authentication, using the same settings as your incoming mail server. For Outlook this will just mean you need to change the setting under the "Outgoing Server" tab of your e-mail account from "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail" to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". For screenshots and a step-by-step on what to do in Outlook, please click here. For Outlook Express on the "Servers" tab in your e-mail account, you need to make sure "My server requires authentication" is checked under "Outgoing Mail Server" and then click on the "Settings..." button. Now, just make sure it is set at "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" and you're all done. For screenshots and a step-by-step on what to do in Outlook Express, please click here.
